Do we need a referral?
No. A referral is helpful context, but you are welcome to request an appointment for your child on your own.
Is this a pediatric dental office?
No, and we do not replace your child's pediatric dentist. Dr. Bennett focuses specifically on how children breathe, sleep, and grow — the airway, jaw, and bite — and works alongside your family or pediatric dentist so regular dental care continues uninterrupted.
What if my child already has a dentist or orthodontist?
That is exactly the norm. Dr. Bennett collaborates with your child's existing dentist, orthodontist, pediatrician, ENT, or sleep specialist rather than replacing them.
Is my child too young or too old?
Airway, sleep, and growth patterns can be evaluated at nearly any age. Earlier intervention often gives the best long-term result because we can guide jaw growth while the face is still developing, but we regularly see school-age children, tweens, and teens.
What does a first visit look like for my child?
A focused, kid-friendly evaluation of the airway, jaw, palate, bite, and sleep-related habits. We take time to explain what we see in plain language, hear your concerns, and outline the options that fit your child. No pressure and no assumed treatment.
What is expansion orthodontics?
It is a way of gently guiding the upper jaw and palate to develop wider, which can improve nasal breathing, make room for the tongue, and support better sleep. Whether it is appropriate depends on your child's anatomy and stage of growth.
Does snoring or mouth breathing always mean a problem?
Not always, but they are worth evaluating. In children, disrupted sleep and airway issues often show up as more than tiredness — they can affect mood, focus, behavior, and how the face and jaws develop. A focused evaluation helps clarify what's happening and what, if anything, to do next.
